Deviation Commentary:
Calendar front design done for our university anime org UP Anime Manga Enthusiasts and our anniversary fair, Gakuen Sai (School Festival) back in 2007. *A*
Features our org mascot, Annie Mae (haha, oh what pun!) as a student to celebrate that year's theme and our org mascot, Buru, a large Poring-like creature which is actually a raindrop (Fast Fact: AME means 'rain' in Japanese).
I just drew the lineart, and that was one bare lineart at that lol. The devil is in the details, and it was all added in Adobe Photoshop 7.0, where I made the background using Pen Tool. At that time, the most sensible program to use is Adobe Illustrator, because of its vector capabilities, but well, I didn't know shit about it, so I opted for its lesser cousin
I used lots of vibrant colors and just drew whatever came to mind to celebrate the energy of the fair and our org. At that time I was really impressed with the way artists embrace maximalism, a style that bombards you with an oversaturation of visual elements, and decided to try it on this piece.
Go full-view and see up close our Gakuensai logo. Then tell me what they represent Genius Bonus for all you good people
Tools used:
Mitsubishi Uni-Pin 0.3, 0.5
Photoshop 7.0
Mouse
Thanks for viewing!
