I bring new art!

The new Yu-Gi-Oh! series is proving to be very interesting, and I pretty much liked their new world view, filled with social struggles and similar issues that would suit a good Marxist discourse. The card games- even though they're played on motorbikes- is integrated very well into the storyline, rather than just being a spectator sport, which was magnified and exploited to its fullest extent by its predecessor, YGO GX

Anyway, the protagonist Fudou Yusei is a pretty engaging character. For the most part, he is silent and contemplative type. He turns into a chatterbox when he duels, though. The second character in his name has the Japanese reading of hoshi and a corresponding Chinese reading of sei meaning "star". Quite literally, his name means, "playing/game star". Lol I am amused . Hitherto in the series, nothing much is revealed, except for some mysterious birthmarks, necessary sexual tensions with his former (boy)friend Jack Atlas, and Mayan references. Needless to say, pretty much of the fandom is on tenterhooks. ^^

This is my first attempt to draw him, and I hope it does him justice. Since I was looking at references from Episode 1, I forgot to draw his the tracer on his face (which is digitally added, as you can see in the above illustration).
Colors done in Adobe Photoshop 7.0 (Yes, I refuse to switch to CS3; it's not kind to my RAM XDD). The background is a slice of his home turf in the Satellite City, which is done using a bunch of low opacity brushes with the help of a disgruntled mouse, so forgive me for the rather-crappy outcome. XD

Will upload a Jack Atlas illustration, or maybe some nice Mapshipping art. (It is very parallel to Prideshipping, I love it! )
